Great Choral Singing Since 1949
Please join us at the Jamestown Philomenian Library on Third Wednesdays for “Remembering the Great War of 1914-1918,” a series of films about World War I. The chorus is remembering the Great War in two concerts on May 5 and May 6 at the Jamestown Recreation Center but had donated a great deal of material to the library to further commemorate the First World War. The first film on April 18 will be the 1930 classic “All Quiet on the Western Front” which won Lew Ayres a Best Actor Oscar. Following films include “Gallipoli” on May 16, “A Very Long Engagement” on June 20, “War Horse” on July 18, “Flyboys” on August 15, “Wings” on August 19, “Legends of the Fall” on October 17 and the last film will be “Paths of Glory” on November 21. The chorus is proud to help present these films so that we might remember and honor the incredible sacrifice of millions of men, women, children and their families. The films are free and open to the public. Our thanks to the folks at the library for hosting the series.
